Gloria!

Hello world,
November is national orphan awareness and adoption month! This month is a great opportunity to really focus on the needs of orphans both in China, and around the world. There are many great ways to support orphans besides adoption, such as sponsoring, advocating, praying, and by supporting orginizations who are working toward improving the lives of orphans, like Goodworks!
Today, I’d love to do my part by advocating for my good friend, Gloria!

Today, I’d love to do my part by advocating for my good friend, Gloria!
Gloria and I did not start off as friends. The first time I met her, I introduced myself, and her response was “wo bu xi huan ni,” which in English means “I don’t like you!” Thankfully, my first interaction with Gloria turned out to be very out of character for her!
Gloria is sweet, kind, energetic, and loves to have fun. It’s rare that you won’t find her smiling from ear to ear! Gloria is a hard worker, both at home by helping her nannies, and at school by studying hard and always willing to help her teachers clean up at the end of the day.

Gloria also has a very rare condition, that has caused her left leg and foot to be more than twice the size of the rest of her body. But Gloria is unstoppable. Gloria still runs and plays with other children. Gloria thrives in school. Gloria does not make excuses for herself. Most importantly : Gloria believes.
Gloria believes that that she can anything she can dream of. She believes every door will open if she tries hard enough. She believes that her forever family is out there looking for her.
I know that all of Gloria's beliefs are true.
I know that the whole world is at Gloria's finger tips.
I know that God has an amazing plan for her.
I know that Gloria has a family waiting for her.

But Gloria is growing up, she’s nine years old now. In just 5 short years, Gloria will be 14 years old, making her too old to be adopted. Please, help Gloria’s dreams come true! Please advocate for Gloria to help her find a family, a family who will keep her dreams alive, and will love her as unconditionally as she will love them.
